We’ve almost lived in Madison for a year, so we still have things we haven’t done for the first time. Today it was the Madison St. Patrick’s Day parade.
I really like Madison because it is a fun town, is beautiful and has lots of big city things we haven’t been able to experience yet. Spring is finally winning out over winter, so we had a nice day for the parade.

The boys liked the parade because it had emergency response vehicles, music, dogs and candy.
The excitement go going with a ambulance with green lights.

Then there was a K-9 officer with a sense of humor and forgiving partner.

And finally the green fire truck.

You can see Quinn’s hand up. He would wave in hopes he’d get some candy. He got a lot. He and Reece made a mess of their green while eating it and shared it for dessert later in the day.
Now they are asleep, though it took awhile for our tiniest leprechaun to shut his eyes. Too much candy.

Quinn got a haircut today. Usually, he gets nervous and sits on my lap. Today I was able to convince him to sit in the seat by himself. I was proud of him because he was doing something on his own. Granted, he moves his head around and tends to lean as the clippers push into his head.
As he was bobbing and weaving like a boxer the hairdresser said, “I cut a lot of kids hair with autism and down syndrome, so I am used to a moving head.”
That’s my boy.

The house is shining from a thorough cleaning, groceries are put away, the college basketball polls have an Orange at the top and Jenny is starting a new job. It is a busy beginning to our week. The end of last weekend had the boys and I at the Seekers.
Saturday night was the first meeting of the Wisconsin Chapter of the Syracuse Alumni Association. Since it was a monumental day in Syracuse sports we wore our Orange. Steve even got in the act which was appreciated.

We picked a good game to get together. Jenny enjoyed a husband-less, son-less, dog-less evening and didn’t watch college basketball. She got her fill of us today.
Tomorrow she starts her new career at an impressive, booming company. We’re proud of her, the Orange and our clean house. We know it will be a mess tomorrow night.

This weekend was a busy one for all of us split up among three states. On Thursday Quinn and I flew to Boston. The little guy visited with his grandparents while I visited with friends at a wedding in New York. Jenny and Reece spent the weekend in Wisconsin, part of it with her parents.
Quinn had a good time traveling on a train to Boston to visit his Aunt Kristen at work and going to the Aquarium.

He had fun with Bana & Birdie and actually smiled well for a change.

He usually puts on a smiling show that cameras don’t like.

While Quinn was enjoying riding on trains with one set of grandparents, Reece was looking at trains with another set.

Believe it or not, Reece was inside. They went to a train show at the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory which is a series of domes. They had a good time until Reece decided to get a close look at the pavement.
He got a split lip, but got some popsicles to help it heal.

It looks better today, but the little guy is cut up. At least he can’t blame the injury on Quinn.

Looks like Maddie won the gold.

The bronze medalist isn’t pictured, but it is Ruby.

We started the morning with candy. Reece was pleased.

It was a nice day.

A local art critic told us we needed a bigger piece of art over our desk, so we got a bigger painting.
You are invited to the debut of “Car,” but first a behind-the-scenes tour of this creation.
It started with a blank canvas and two shirtless artists painting it.

These artists are eccentric and soon they were painting in the nude.

These artists were talented, but messy.

They did have a good time.

When it was all done the masterpiece was complete. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you “Car.”

This 24×36 work of art now sits above our desk. I think it is perfectly-sized for it’s surroundings.

Check out our new Masterpieces page at the top of LittleConroy.com.
We’ll put the many art pieces the boys create there. Quinn is our main artist, but Reece has once piece.
New pieces will be added to the slideshow when we get them.

Reece and Quinn are at the Seekers for a couple of days while I’m on a business trip and Jenny juggles her many classes.
I called Donna today to check in. She said she was amazed by Reece. At one point today she couldn’t find him. Then she heard some noise on the basement stairs. It was Reece dragging up a scooter he felt needed to be upstairs. He did this with other toys he “needed” throughout the day.
It is so fun watching him become independent. He knows what he wants and we can smile as we watch him get it.
